About CamSkip

One camera, one girl, one conversation, and a button for when it isn't a match. That is the whole idea. Here is why we built it that way, what we refuse to do, and how the site pays its bills.

Angel from Nigeria, saying hi on CamSkip

What is CamSkip, briefly?

A one-on-one video chat that runs in your browser. You meet girls who are online, at random or by choosing, and move to the next match when you want. Free to start.

In two sentences

What is CamSkip, in two sentences?

CamSkip is a browser-based, one-on-one cam chat where you video chat with girls who are online and move to the next match when a conversation isn't for you. It lives at camskip.live, runs on phones and computers without an install, and is free to start.

That is the entire product. There is a random match for when you want to be surprised, a Who's online list for when you want to choose, and a handful of tools for staying in touch with the people you liked. Everything else on this page is the reasoning behind those choices, because we think you should know how a site thinks before you turn your camera on for it.

The name

What do the two halves of the name CamSkip mean?

Two words, one habit. Cam: you meet on camera, face to face, in real time. Skip: when it isn't a match, you move on, without needing a reason and without anyone being offended.

The second word matters as much as the first. Meeting strangers only works if leaving is easy. A conversation you are free to walk away from is one you can relax in, and a conversation you are trapped in is one you start avoiding. So the way out is not hidden in a menu; it is a button on the call screen. How it works in practice, and what each new match uses, is on the skip video chat page.

The little dot in our logo, sitting off the end of the letter c, is that idea drawn small: one person, and the next one just beside her.

What we believe

What do we believe about meeting people online?

That it should happen one person at a time. Most of the internet is built for crowds: feeds, comment threads, group rooms where forty people type at once and nobody is really talking to anybody. We think the good part of meeting someone is the part where they are paying attention to you and you to them.

That a face beats a profile. You learn more about a person in ten seconds of live video than in ten polished photos and a bio. Tone of voice, a laugh, whether they listen: none of it fits in a text box.

That surprise is underrated. Algorithms are very good at showing you more of what you already chose. A random match shows you somebody you would never have picked from a list, in a country you have never been to, and that is often the best conversation of the week.

And that manners still count. You can leave any chat here in a second. We would like you to say goodbye first.

None of this is complicated, and that is deliberate. A site for talking to people should get out of the way quickly. If you ever notice CamSkip adding steps between you and a conversation, tell us, because that would be us drifting from the point.

Today

What can you do here today?

Start a random one-on-one video match as a guest. Tap Next when it isn't working. Browse Who's online and view it by country. Open a profile, follow, send a message or start a video call directly. Type during a call, and have typed messages translated automatically when you do not share a language.

Each of those has a page of its own, and the features page is the map to all of them. If you have never done a video chat before, begin there or simply go to the CamSkip home page and press start; the site is designed so the first call needs no instructions.

What we are not

What don't we do?

Six things, and saying them plainly saves everyone time.

  • No crowded calls. A call is one-on-one. People who are after a room full of strangers typing at once will not find it in a call here.
  • No store app and no install file. CamSkip is a website. It works in your browser and can sit on your home screen.
  • No dating promises. We are not a matchmaking service and we do not verify anyone's relationship status. This is online conversation.
  • No star ratings and no testimonials. You will not find a wall of five-star quotes here.
  • No "free forever". We say free to start because that is what is true.

Money

Where does CamSkip's money come from?

Through coins. Starting is free: new visitors get free matches, and a match opens with free time. People who want to start more matches than the free ones allow, or to carry a call on past its free time, buy coins, and that is what pays for the servers and the video delivery.

We prefer an arrangement simple enough to explain in a paragraph. You can see where money comes in before any is spent, because a notice appears in the call before coins are used. The longer version is on Is CamSkip free?

Rules

How do we handle bad behavior?

With rules and tools. The rules are in our Community Guidelines: no harassment, no requests for money, no capturing other people without consent. The tools are report and block. Breaking the rules can cost someone their access.

We will be honest about the limits. No service that connects strangers can promise that every person will behave, and we do not claim to see everything. What we can do is make leaving easy and reporting quick. Our fuller answer is on Is CamSkip safe?, and if you want a yardstick for comparing sites, including this one, use the checklist on cam chat sites.

Audience

Who is CamSkip for?

People who would like to talk to someone new, one-on-one, on camera. Some come to unwind after work. Some are practicing a language and want a real person to practice on. Some want to flirt a little, and some just want a conversation that is not with the same four people they talk to every day.

It suits you if you are curious and reasonably polite, and if you like the idea that the next person could be from anywhere. It does not suit you if you want a crowd, or if you are looking for someone to send money to or get money from.

Trade-offs

What did we give up to keep it this simple?

Quite a lot, on purpose. Every site that connects people has to choose what it is for, and each choice closes a door. These are the ones we closed.

  • Depth of profile for speed of meeting. We would rather you spent the time on a call than on reading or writing a biography.
  • A crowd for a conversation. A call is one-on-one, which means no room to drift into and lurk. If you are on a call, you are in it.
  • Certainty for surprise. A random match can be anyone who is online. Some will not be your kind of person, which is why moving on is built in and nobody has to explain it.
  • A store listing for a link. Being a website means there is no icon until you add one yourself. It also means you can try the site from any phone or laptop in front of you.

If one of those trade-offs is the thing you care about most, this may not be your site, and it is better to find that out on this page than after ten minutes.

A first visit

What is a sensible way to try CamSkip?

Give it one short session with no plan. Open the site, look through Who's online for a minute to get a feel for who is around, then start one match and say hello. You will know more after that single call than this page can tell you.

If the call was awkward, that is normal for a first one; the how to video chat guide sorts out the camera and sound, and girl video chat has first lines. If it was good, follow her before it ends. And if you would rather not be on camera yet, girl chat is the way in through messages.

Contact

Where do you write to us?

By email, at [email protected]. Use it for account questions, payment problems, a report you could not make in the moment, or to tell us something on this site is wrong. The contact page says what to put in a message for each of those, and which questions already have an answer somewhere on the site.

FAQ

About us, in short

What language is CamSkip in?

The site is in English. Typed messages between users can be translated automatically, so the person you talk to does not have to share your language.

What does the name CamSkip mean?

Cam is for camera: you meet face to face on live video. Skip is for the freedom to move on to the next person when a chat isn't working.

Is CamSkip a cam to cam site?

Yes. On a call both people are on camera, and the call is one-on-one. It is a conversation, not a broadcast.

Is CamSkip a dating site?

No. It is online chat by video and text. We do not match people for relationships and do not show relationship status.

Is there a CamSkip app?

CamSkip is a web app that runs in your browser and can be added to your phone's home screen.

Does CamSkip cost money?

It is free to start. Coins are the paid part: they start a match when you have no free one, and carry a call on past its free time.

Does CamSkip have reviews or ratings on the site?

No. Try a call and judge it yourself.

How do I contact CamSkip?

Email [email protected]. Include the device and browser you use and, for payments, the order details.
